Lure the Hunter Into Your Nightmares
Petra STERRY

[Exhibition/Installation]

Petra Sterry focuses on introspection.
The starting point for her investigations is the lived body.
In doing so, she relates her own experiences, dreams, and desires to the world.
Lure the hunter into your nightmares...

Lure the Hunter Into Your Nightmares
Is there anyone who never dreams, who has never dreamed? Probably not. We rather tend to forget dreams unless they seem extraordinary or special to us. As for me, the reason for drawing Cash Dream Replay was my own dreaming, where many dreams ended in the same, recurring way for decades.
In Cash Dream Replay I am less interested in an interpretation of dreams than in the description of how I perceive the circumstance of dreaming itself. In this case, dreaming means a psychological state that involves a perceptible physical process. The term lived body (for the German word Leib) which is used in the English-speaking world also refers to experiences and feelings and differs from the physical body.
Strangers in my head is a series of eight drawings from which three works are on display, dealing with the seizure of uncontrolled thoughts.
Dark Matter I and Dark Matter II are about exploring possibilities. The most terrible is perhaps possible, but perhaps also the most beautiful.
