GUE SCHMIDT, FRITZ FRO
Die Installation bestand aus vier separaten Videopräsentationen, welche auf vier verschiedenen Bildschirmen, auf Podesten stehend, zur Sichtbarkeit gebracht wurden – je zwei standen in Opposition und spiegelten sich also jeweils im Gegenüber. Es waren dies Kurzdokumentationen aus bereits vorangegangenen Ausstellungen bzw. Installationen aus den Jahren 2002 bis 2004, mit den Titeln: DO28, VOLK/FOLK, HIMMEL UND HÖLLE, ein Kinderspiel oder BEWEGT/ SEIN, sowie die Videoinstallation NICHTS WIRFT KEINEN SCHATTEN. Da bei allen dieser Raumarbeiten das akustische Moment einen wesentlichen und spezifischen Anteil hatte, wurde auch bei dieser Präsentation das Akustische zu einem tragenden und verbindenden Element. Die einzelnen Dokumentationen hatten verschiedene Längen (Dauer: 1-7 Minuten) und liefen im Endlosmodus, was zur Folge hatte, dass bei siebenstündigen Betrieb (Öffnungszeit: 14:00-21:00 Uhr) immer unterschiedliche akustische Variationen wahrgenommen werden konnten. Der tragende Teil allerdings war sprachlicher Art, ein Zusammenschnitt eines Vortrags, gehalten von dem Philosophen Hans Heinz Holz, anlässlich der Ausstellung HIMMEL UND HÖLLE,... The installation consisted of four separate video presentations, which were shown on four different screens standing on pedestals – two pedestals each were standing in opposition reflecting each other. These were short documentaries from preceding exhibitions or installations from the years 2002 to 2004 entitled: DO28, VOLK/FOLK, HEAVEN AND HELL, a children’s game or BEING/MOVED, as well as the video installation NOTHING DOESN´T CAST A SHADOW. Since the acoustic moment had an essential and specific part in all these space works, the acoustic also became a supporting and connective element in this presentation. The individual documentaries had different lengths (duration 1-7 minutes) and were shown in closed loop mode, so that at a running time of seven hours (opening times 2p.m. to 9p.m.) there were always different acoustic variations to be per-ceived. The supporting element basin on words/voice, however, was the montage of a lecture given by the philosopher Hans Heinz Holz on the occasion of the exhibition HEAVEN AND HELL.
