September has 30 days, the angle of a semicircle is 180 degrees, at the moment my flat has 8 doors which can be opened. All these things, namely September, semicircle and flat have something in common: they are combined with a certain number.
These apparently accidental numbers (months have a different number of days in other cultures, a semicircle is 200 degrees in another grading system, there could be 3 or 10 doors to open in my flat) can be taken as a programmatic motif to produce a third object, a picture, a sculpture or a collage.
Finally new associations should be created in the head of the listener.
Is that art?
