DER [ZIRKULATIONS]PROZESS

Im Rahmen des AtelierRundgangs im 2. und 20.Bezirk, vom 18. bis 20. April 2008 [14:00 - 21:00], präsentierten wir im Projektraum MAG3 nicht uns im Arbeitsraum und auch nicht den Arbeitsraum in uns, sondern hatten zu diesem Anlass eine Videoinstallation vorbereitet, welche ausschliesslich von der Strasse aus betrachtet werden konnte, was nicht hiess, dass der Raum als solcher nicht betreten werden konnte/ durfte.

Die Installation bestand aus den vier zu MAG3 gehörenden Schaufenstern zur Schiffamtsgasse, welchen vier Videoprojektionen zugeordnet waren. Der Titel der Arbeit (Videoinstallation) DER [ZIRKULATIONS]PROZESS war einem Werk von KARL MARX entlehnt, woraus Textpassagen entnommen und in eines der vier Fenster (Schaufenster) projiziert wurden – der Bildverlauf war vertikal. Auf den weiteren drei Projektionsebenen/ Fenstern verdichtete das textliche sich quasi zur Bildlichkeit – der Umraum (Strasse, Gehsteg) formte jenen Rahmen in dessen Verfasstheit und eben nur dort ein Wirken moeglich ist – horizontal. Nachdem nun leider diese Lichtbildprojektionen nicht mit Tages- sondern nur vermittels Kunstlicht möglich waren, waren die eingeladenen Gäste bzw. Besucher aufgefordert die Ausstellung erst ab 17:00 Uhr zu besuchen, da erst ab dieser Zeit eine gute Sichtbarkeit der Installation gegeben war. In the context of the tour of studios in the 2nd and 20th district from April 18 to 20, 2008 (2p.m - 9p.m.), in the project room MAG3 we neither presented ourselves in the workroom nor the workroom within ourselves, but we had prepared a video installation for this occasion which could exclusively be viewed from the street, which, however, did not mean that the space could not be entered. The installation consisted of the four display windows of MAG3 looking on to Schiffamtsgasse, which were assigned to four videoprojectors. The title of the work (installation) THE PROCESS [OF CIRCULATION] had been borrowed from a work by KARL MARX and so had some text passages, which were included in one of the four projection fields – the sequence of pictures was vertical. On the three other levels of projection/ windows the textual was so to speak condensed into the visual – the surrounding space (street, sidewalk) constituted the original framework where the work could take effect, which was only possible just in this place – horizontally. Since these slide projections were unfortunately not possible in daylight but only by the medium of artificial light, the invited guests and all visitors were advised not to attend the exhibition before 5 p.m., since good visibility was only given from this time on.
